First published in 1986, Germany Studies (Deutschland-Studien), originally entitled Federal Germany Studies, is a peer-reviewed academic journal produced by the Institute of German Studies at Tongji University.

The journal is devoted to German Studies and other related EU studies. As a leading journal in international studies, it has been widely acclaimed by government decision-makers, scholars and business leaders. In addition, it is also well-regarded by the German government and institutions of higher learning, and is subscribed by a variety of German libraries.

At present, Germany Studies is the only Chinese journal that focuses on German studies, and it also contributes high-quality research in area studies. Since 2008, it has been included in the Chinese Social Science Citation Index (CSSCI), the Chinese Core Periodical Overview (PKU), and in the Key Reference Sources for Newspapers and Journals (RUC).
